Welcome to the ISC2 Northern Virginia Chapter, a community of cybersecurity practitioners, aspiring professionals and industry leaders across Northern Virginia.
Who We Are
We are the Northern Virginia chapter of ISC2, the global association of cybersecurity professionals behind the CISSP. We bring the people who defend this region's networks together to connect, learn and grow at every stage of their careers.

Our members range from veteran CISSPs to students preparing for their first certification. What they share is a commitment to securing information systems and helping the next professional move up.

To be Northern Virginia's home base for cybersecurity: the place where working and aspiring professionals meet, trade insights and move the profession forward.
Our Mission
We serve our members with continuous learning across cybersecurity, risk management, information assurance and workforce development, in a community that welcomes newcomers as readily as veterans.

Monthly chapter meetings, workshops and professional development sessions keep members current in a field that never stands still. Many chapter events earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits toward ISC2 certification requirements.
What We Do
Professional Development & Education: Chapter meetings, technical presentations and panel discussions that build hands-on skills and leadership.
Workforce Engagement: We partner with educators and employers on programs and internships that bring the next generation of cybersecurity talent into the field.
Networking & Community: Practitioners from government, industry and academia meet at chapter meetings and socials to share experience and build lasting working relationships.
Scholarship & Outreach: We support scholarships, including the Samantha Jennings-Jones Scholarship, and community initiatives that open doors to cybersecurity careers.
Leadership & Support
A volunteer Board of Directors drawn from across the cybersecurity community leads the chapter, giving its time and expertise to grow the chapter and serve our members.
